Mission Conference

We had a mission wide Conference on May 30 where Elder Craig Christensen and Elder and Sister Echo Hawk spoke to the missionaries. I sat on the stand and looked out at all of the happy Elders and smiling Sisters. I thought of all 87,000 missionaries throughout the world who also look the same as they "Match the Message" and press forward with hearts united in the Missionary Purpose. I believe their goodness and obedience is what keeps the rest of us in this world safe. The missionaries are an example of what we should all be - Unspotted from the World.

Here is a whole post of pictures from the conference. I am adding all of them so you don't miss any of the fun from that day. They are all taken after the meeting was over. Included is the mission lining up for the group picture, having a small snack, and heading back to their areas to work.

When The Family Gets Together . . .

We called everyone in from all over the mission to meet and listen to Elder Craig Christensen - Presidency of the Seventy, and Elder and Sister Echo Hawk - Philippine Area Presidency. The meeting was scheduled to start at 9:00 a.m. but when President Tye and I pulled up to the church at 8:15, everyone was there and waiting in the parking lot. A sea of white shirts, ties, skirts, dresses, and name tags. It was a beautiful sight!

Because we were lucky enough to get everyone in the mission in one place at the same time, we had a picture taken. The photographer, Russell De la Cruz, is a member of our ward. He did a great job of organizing us and making sure everyone could be seen. There are 206 of us in Cavite. Unfortunately there were three who could not be in the picture. The Pugsley's, one of our senior couples, were at the Manila Temple with their Branch, and one of our elders was in the hospital.

Here is the Philippines Cavite Mission - May, 2014

By the end of July, we will add another 48 missionaries to this group. We just keep growing strong!

All The Way From Utah

Thanks to one of our children who sent each of us a Jimmy John's chocolate chip cookie. It brought a little bit of home to us in the Philippines.

Stake And Ward Open House

The last two Saturdays in May we had both a Stake and a Ward Open House with missionaries and ward members all getting involved. Both the Bacoor and Las Piñas buildings looked beautiful.

Four Week Follow-Up

Today we met with the newest missionaries in our mission. They have been here for 4 weeks and almost half way through their 12-week training. They are filled with the desire to do the best they can - and then do more!
