December With The Senior Couples

During December we had a few days to relax and enjoy our wonderful Senior Couples. First we visited Corregidor Island, and then we all gathered to celebrate Christmas. We dearly love each of these couples!
Individually they bless us with their experience, talents, and insight.
Together they "put their shoulders to the wheel" and help Cavite mission move forward.

Corredigor Island
"The Rock" is the largest of 5 islands that dot the entrance to Manila Bay. During WWII, whoever had control over Corregidor had complete control of the bay. It is a tourist attraction now, a memory of lives lost to insure freedom.

On the boat and ready for the hour long trip to Corregidor.
Starting in the back - President Tye, Sister and Elder Laws, Elder Petersen, Elder and Sister Broadbent, and Sister Petersen.
In the back - Elder and Sister Harvey, Sister and Elder Simon.

 Topside - Mile long barracks.

Mission Christmas Party

The whole mission came together this week for Zone Conference and the Christmas Party. We enjoyed zone skits and also had a gift exchange - but the highlight of our day was the Christmas devotional. The afternoon was spent just talking and singing songs about the Savior and His birth. It brought us together and filled us with the Spirit. It is hard to believe that this will be our last Christmas here in the Philippines and perhaps the last time the whole mission will all be gathered together before we leave. What a cherished memory this Christmas will be for President and Sister Tye.
