October MLC

With the approaching General Conference - and the never ending importance of following the promptings of the Spirit - the theme for the month of October is
"I Will Be An Instrument In The Lord's Hands As I LISTEN."
Our monthly MLC meeting always includes the introduction to the theme, the sharing of spiritual and preparedness moments, instruction and counsel from the Assistants, and "even better" training and instruction from President Tye. MLC is always one of the most spiritual meetings we are blessed to be a part of each month. Our home becomes a holy place as these 32 mission leaders gather here. They are always ready to do whatever President Tye asks of them. Their comments and ideas show the wisdom they have acquired from their full time service as missionaries. We are blessed to be a part of MLC!

In this picture you can see how we move every piece of furniture out of the living room and make it into a conference room. We have often thought about moving this meeting to a church building but the missionaries love to come to the mission home, plus they enjoy the lunches they get here.
Elders Collins and Zacarias share their testimony about a handbook moment, and a preparedness moment.
Sisters' Murphey and Saavedra are teaching about using the scriptures.
I love this picture! We start at 9:00 in the morning, and finish at 3:00. Many of these missionaries had to travel over an hour and a half to get here - so some left their apartments when it was still dark outside. I have just fed them a big yummy lunch and now with full tummies, they are fighting sleep during the afternoon portion of the meeting. Ha! If they knew I was taking their picture they would be embarrassed. Good kids!
Elder Coffey is training.
 Role Play!

President talks to them about Sacrament attendance. One of the role play activities is centered around asking members to assist and become involved in helping investigators attend their meetings.

"We are the Lord's hands here upon the earth, with a mandate to serve and to lift His children. He is dependent upon each of us." President Monson, 2009
