We decided to have two reunions before we leave the Philippines. We are not sure if we will ever return to these beautiful islands again and so we wanted to say GOODBYE to the RM's who could make it to Cavite or Cebu for one last hug. (and a good cry!)
The word GOODBYE is a contraction of the phrase "God be with ye" used by 15th century English Christians. Because of persecution to Christians, the word God was changed to Good and the phrase was shortened. Today we commonly say "Goodbye." I find this so interesting because a favorite hymn we sing in the church when someone is leaving us is, "God Be With You Till We Meet Again." Simply put, GOODBYE!
Saying GOODBYE is always hard and even more difficult when you realize that you may not see those you are leaving for a very long time or maybe never again. Unless it is at Jesus feet - which we all hope for!
Here are a few of the 150 pictures we took of our two reunions. I find it hard to explain how much we love the missionaries who served with us during 2013 - 2016. President Tye and I came to the Philippines praying that we could make a difference in the lives of the full time missionaries - - but we will leave with the realization that they and their example made a huge difference in our life!
