Beginning of another month PLUS a new year too! I love starting things off with MLC. This one meeting always makes my whole month fabulous!!!
The opening song for MLC today was, "High On A Mountain Top." After the first verse, President stood up and said, "Everyone stop for a minute. Are you all asleep? This sounds pretty bad. Let's go on to the second verse, but sing it like you mean it, put your heart into it!" When the missionaries started singing again it gave me chills. It was strong. It was loud. It was powerful. The mission home walls shook with their voices and our home was filled with the Spirit. I love, love, love the missionaries and after the song I told them that the day we leave, I will have fingernail marks in the floor and front door frame as they drag me out of here!
"For God remembers still His promise made of old
That he on Zion's hill truth's standard would unfold!
Her light should there attract the gaze
Of all the world in latter days.
His house shall there be reared, His glory to display,
And people shall be heard in distant lands to say:
We'll now go up and serve the Lord,
Obey his truth, and learn his word."
(High On A Mountain Top, pg. 5, LDS Hymn Book)

Isaiah 2:2-3
"And it shall come to pass in the last days, that the mountain of the Lord's house shall be established in the top of the mountains, and shall be exalted above the hills; and all nations shall flow unto it."
"And many people shall go and say, Come ye, and let us go up to the mountain of the Lord, to the house of the God of Jacob; and he will teach us of his ways, and we will walk in his paths: for out of Zion shall go forth the law, and the word of the Lord from Jerusalem."
