Saying Goodbye

Our last day with the 10 leaving missionaries started out with breakfast, a visit to the American Cemetery, and a trip to the Manila Temple. After our session at the temple, we had pizza, goodbye talks, and testimonies at the Mission Home. It was a hard to see them leave - but they have fulfilled their full-time calling to serve in Cavite. Keep in touch, we love you all.

Sister Sleight flew home a week after the other nine going home elders. Here are the pictures of her last night with us.

Sister Sleight left a thank you note for us and letters to other missionaries.
A 4:00am last goodbye.
Funny picture!
Long hair, wind, and taking pictures do not go well together.

Back To Basics - Zone Conference

The theme for Zone Conference was Back To Basics!
This included both spiritual basics and missionary basics. We started out each day of conference with 8-10 testimonies from missionaries. (All were called to prepare, but few were chosen) Then we broke up into zones and rotated to 5 different classes that were taught by the senior couples.
1. Budgeting Missionary Support
2. Companionship Unity
3. Missionary Grooming
4. The Sacredness of the Baptismal Ordinance
5. Health and Safety
After lunch the AP's spoke on Mission Unity and Giving Your Best In Serving The Lord. President spoke about the Easter Initiative, Returning With Honor, and some basic rules that needed to be reemphasized within the mission.
It was a perfect two-day conference.
